Aligning strategy and operations


Many strategists/strategic planners do not understand the functions of the entity they are developing strategy for. It becomes difficult to align everything if you don’t understand the interdependencies: if you don’t understand how the parts truly fit together.

It is the same problem the other way around. It is difficult for the functions to align their activities without understanding the strategy. What is the answer? Maybe some shared education where strategists and functional people learn to understand each other’s areas. Or an external course such as
