AEL and broccoli: a match made in heaven

This case study describes how Malcolm Veigas, Assistant Director for Community Services at Bolton Council, applied his learning around strategic thinking and connectivity from the Academy for Executive Leadership Programme to a £1.2m discounted school meals initiative across all 96 primary schools in the Borough. The promotion resulted in a sustained increase in the uptake of school meals (from 51% to 70%), and there are signs it is having an impact further down the line.
