Consulting to effect sustainable practice in organisations
This research investigated organisational change approaches toward engagement with sustainability. It adopted action- and qualitative- research approaches, using appreciative inquiry based interview, collaborative and 1st person inquiry.
The research focused specifically on the diversity of 'framing' of sustainability, suggesting that the choice of frame limits both problem formulation and strategic choice. The research suggests there is potential for framing and reframing as a strategic intervention to explore risk, opportunities and blind-spots relating to organisational strategy. A model and theory of change is offered as a means to engender engagement with sustainability at pan-organisation and industry systems level.
