Strategy Tools is the first two days of the five day Strategic Decisions program. If you are looking for support in managing the strategy process, you can proceed directly onto the three day Formulating Strategy program. You can also take the Formulating Strategy program at a later date.
Content and Structure
You will receive pre-program reading and videos three weeks before the program starts.
Over two days you will consider a range of topics based on a six step process for designing a strategy. This is taken from Program Tutor Jo Whitehead’s book What you Need to Know about Strategy.
A range of tools and frameworks are presented for each question. This helps structure the analysis and debate to come up with answers. You will also look at how to structure the strategy process in different ways to suit the situation.

Tutors will facilitate a virtual follow-up session for the group six weeks after the residential phase. This will allow you and the other participants in the group to review your actions and support you all to make further progress. You will also be able to contact Jo Whitehead for ongoing guidance.
You are also given continued access to your online program portal and Virtual Ashridge content for six months after your residential stay.
