Who is this course for?
You have management experience and a good understanding of how to make the most of your team. However, you’re looking to improve your ability to persuade, gain buy-in from, and influence other internal and external organizational stakeholders.
What will I learn?
This course will help introduce you to the latest strategies in persuasion to help you diagnose, analyze, and refine your influencing approach and maximize your personal persuasiveness.
Upon completion, you will:
Have a deep understanding of your own innate influencing approach
Grasp the influencing styles of others, and understand how to adjust your approach for maximum effectiveness
Learn how to apply these theories of persuasion and influence to real challenges you’re currently facing in ¬the workplace
You’ll learn from our faculty who have mastered the art of influencing in the workplace as consultants, directors, and vice presidents—long before they became academics.
Why learn with us?
Our goal is to help you develop the confidence and skills required to create successful working relationships. Before arriving, you’ll complete an evaluation that helps identify your own strengths and weaknesses, and also allows managers, peers, and direct reports to provide feedback on you. We use this data to help maximize your ability to impact your organization.
We'll also partner with you to identify a real challenge you’re currently facing at work, which will form the basis for this course. You’ll leave with an action plan to help you overcome that challenge, and completing a final project back at work will you earn a Certificate of Application as a result.
You’ll immediately put classroom strategies into action through immersive simulations with peers and actors. These environments deliberately stretch your capabilities while supporting you–which our research indicates is the ideal setting for long-term learning. By the time you return to work, you’ll have mastered the techniques.
Our location away from hectic work life will ensure that your learning unfolds in an environment where you can self-reflect, focus, and network with like-minded peers. You’ll return to your organization energized and ready to apply your learning
