Howell has worked for Ashridge for over ten years; formerly director of the Strategy and Leadership programme, he now works for a wide range of public and private sector clients both in the UK and continental Europe, primarily where issues of strategy, leadership and teamwork coincide. He often uses approaches from theatre and music to bring a different perspective to managerial issues.

Howell spent the early part of his career in Sales and Marketing roles for ICI in the UK and Europe, before going on to work across Europe, the USA and the Middle East for Arthur D Little.

He has particular experience in the financial services sector and media, where some former current clients include: Lloyd's TSB, Barings Asset Management, Danish Re, BBC Worldwide, Associated Newspapers, Express Newspapers and Reed Business Information.
