George Binney

MA, MBA, Barrister

George leads leadership development initiatives in a number of well-known international organisations. Drawing on his experience as a former finance director and McKinsey consultant, and now as an executive coach to leaders, his passion is to get under the surface of the challenges leaders face and help individuals discover how best to use their special qualities. He also teaches business strategy and organisational change and is an authoritative speaker.

George entered business after training as a barrister and in his early career was a finance director and general manager. He worked for two large companies, GEC and Courtaulds, and worked on many international studies for McKinseys. He has an MA from Cambridge University and an MBA with distinction from INSEAD.

George writes and researches widely on the realities of leadership in international organisations. His books and articles include Living Leadership - a Practical Guide for Ordinary Heroes, FT Prentice Hall, 2005, Leaders in Transition - the dramas of ordinary heroes Ashridge 2003, Leaning Into The Future - Changing The Way People Change Organisations, Nicholas Brealey, 1997 and Economist Intelligence Unit, 1992.
